A leading provider of colocation and managed services recognized the rising demand for advanced cloud solutions within its client base. To meet this demand, the organization set out to create a next-generation cloud platform, powered by VMware Cloud Foundation.
Despite the team’s expertise in VMware technologies, they encountered challenges in conceptualizing, developing, and deploying this sophisticated infrastructure. New Broadcom features within VMware Cloud Foundation added further complexity to the task.
To address these challenges, the provider collaborated with comdivision. comdivision offered extensive support across all stages— conceptualization, development, and implementation — and was able to integrate VMware Cloud Foundation seamlessly. By joining the project from the outset, comdivision provided valuable insights into storage and network spaces that are ideal for a service provider environment.
Through intensive workshops, comdivision gathered details on data center attributes, IT services, network, storage, and operational requirements. With this input, they developed a high-level conceptual design that was focused on business needs. This later evolved into a logical design that detailed components and their interconnections. Once approved, a physical design, with full configuration and deployment specifications, followed.
With the design phase complete, comdivision successfully implemented the platform to one of their data centers. Thanks to detailed documentation, the organization independently deployed a second site. “Building the cloud on our own was an essential step for us,” noted the Head of the Cloud Services team. “comdivision’s deployment guides have empowered us to expand our offerings. If issues arise, comdivision’s support is always available.”
The client remains committed to enhancing its cloud services and delivering top-tier customer support. To achieve these goals, they plan to leverage comdivision’s managed services, including cd:knowledge and a tailored service packs.
