Swiss Shoes Protected by NSX Firewall: Implementing NSX Micro-Segmentation

Boosted Security: How NSX Micro-Segmentation Protected Swiss Shoes

A renowned Swiss shoe manufacturer faced a significant challenge in its IT infrastructure. Due to an expanding environment with large subnets and a growing urgency caused by repeated attacks in recent months, the need for NSX micro-segmentation became clear.

The Challenge

The Swiss shoe manufacturer's IT infrastructure had grown organically over the years and consisted of large subnets. Repeated attacks in recent months necessitated a comprehensive security solution . The urgency to implement this solution was high, as the security of the IT environment needed to be improved as soon as possible.

The Solution

comdivision took on the challenge and conducted a thorough analysis of the existing environment. Following this, an NSX Management Cluster was implemented, and the existing port groups were imported into NSX. A fundamental firewall rule set was introduced to enhance security. Additionally, the customer’s IT team was trained to handle and manage the new NSX environment.

The Result

The Swiss manufacturer benefited from the swift implementation and qualified support provided by comdivision. The introduction of NSX micro-segmentation resulted in significantly improved IT infrastructure security and bolstered the company's confidence  to deliver effective solutions – even under high time pressure. Tobias Paschek, Lead Architect, concluded, “it’s great to work in Switzerland! The technical challenge was relatively minor, andthe organizational challenge and time pressure were outstandingly managed by both sides.”

“The rapid implementation and qualified assistance with initial uncertainties, as well as the prompt response to our questions, greatly impressed us. It was a great collaboration, and we felt very well supported,“ the IT-Manager of the Client noted.
