How a regional IT service provider built a standardized, multi-datacenter cloud platform with VCF & NSX
Ratiodata SE, a Germany‐based IT service provider and managed service provider, was looking to modernize and standardize its infrastructure platform. While their team had strong expertise in vSphere and traditional infrastructure, VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) and NSX introduced new architectural and operational challenges.
“We knew where we wanted to go, but VCF and NSX introduced new complexity. comdivision helped us navigate the architecture and supported our team during implementation.”
— Ratiodata Infrastructure Team
Key Facts
-
Standardized Infrastructure Deployment: VCF enables a consistent and repeatable infrastructure rollout.
-
High Availability & Resilience: NSX supports workload mobility and failover across data centers.
-
Flexible Service Enablement: Networking services can be adapted to customer requirements.
THE SITUATION
Ratiodata had a solid understanding of vSphere and general infrastructure operations. However, VMware Cloud Foundation and NSX were new technologies for their internal teams. NSX, in particular, was an unfamiliar area and required both architectural guidance and hands‐on support. At the same time, NSX was a critical component for enabling customers to run workloads across multiple data centers transparently and to ensure failover capabilities in disaster scenarios. Ratiodata needed a partner who could support the design, deployment, and ongoing operation of VCF and NSX while helping their internal teams build confidence and expertise.
Q: How long have you been working with comdivision?
A: “We engaged comdivision as a regional partner to support our VCF and NSX adoption.”
Q: What triggered the engagement?
A: “We introduced VCF and NSX and needed experienced guidance, especially for NSX.”
Q: What was the main objective?
A: “To deploy a standardized VCF platform and enable flexible networking with NSX.”
Q: What were the biggest challenges?
A: “Building NSX expertise and enabling multi‑datacenter failover scenarios.”
